Day 57
I shot this out the window of the van on the way to work this morning. Much as I like the winter, I am looking forward to Spring coming!

Day 54
Donna's mini horses complain about the weather, but with their thick winter coats they don't really feel the cold :)

Day 53
Here are the Cheese Boys, Jack and Colby. These adorable guys are still looking for a home, so if you know of one, please give us a call.

Day 51
I have finally found the text for my next tattoo! It's Sanskrit, the first line of the Anusara Invocation, which is chanted before our yoga classes. It's pronounced "Om namah Shivayah gurave" It doesn't have a direct translation, but a very rough approximation would be "Salutations to that which I am capable of becoming". It's very beautiful, and means a lot to me. This is a shot of my computer screen, and the Devanagari text it has given me. I may look for a little more stylized version, but hope to get my tattoo (most likely as a band round my right upper arm) very soon.

Day 50
Day 50, and yet another snow day :( Here's what I just made to take Maggie's mind off the weather - a dirty martini. And no, you can't all have one!

Day 47
Sticking to the same theme, here are my vegetables sautéing in the pot, before the stock is added. As I write this, the soup has been finished and is in the freezer. Tomorrow I'll make the noodles.

Day 46
Another vat of yummy stuff, this time the start of the chicken noodle soup I'm making for the Prairieland Herbs Great Soup Swap, which is happening out at the farm on Saturday. I think I'll have a bit more than the six quarts I need for the swap :)

Day 45
This unappetizing-looking bucket of stuff is the start of our home made wine. We are very excited about this, and looking forward to our first taste in about four months' time (we purposely chose one that matures quickly for our first try).

Life with Love
A few pictures from last night's "Life with Love" show, organized by Jen Kees of Kees Camp Pole Fitness Studio, and held in aid of the American Lung Association. There are lots more on my Flickr page.
Day 43
I spent all evening taking pictures with my Nikon, at "Life With Love", a charity show organized by and starring many friends. Maggie was onstage with her LED hula hoop, dancing to these wonderful and talented African drum group, Tubabu. This is the only picture I took with my iPhone today, so this is what you get. I hope there'll be a few better shots from the big camera - keep an eye on my flickr.

Day 42
I got to play with one of these this evening. It's pretty decent for a P&S camera. This one belongs to Maggie's granddad, who got it for his 90th birthday.

Day 40
Well, at least somebody ventured outside today. Me, I stayed in - I was able to reach out through the back door to get this shot :)

This is Suki, the beautiful lilac-point Siamese we have been fostering for the past six weeks. She is going to her new home tomorrow. I'll really miss her.

Day 34
The innards of a "New York Cheese" squash. These seeds, salted and roasted, are utterly addictive - I'm looking forward to a yummy snack :)

Day 33
Qwerty is now accepted as an official word - I got 42 points for playing it in a recent game of Scrabble :)

Day 32
Here is a view of a PCI modem I pulled from an old computer. I think PCBs are fascinating to look at, reminiscent of miniature cityscapes.
