Day 133

The Cognisys Stop Shot controller, which makes possible the balloon shots, and others (even better) that are yet to come :)

Here is one of the Fantastic Four having a nap on a cap.

Day 131

This is Walter, another of the "Shop Fosters".

Day 130

This is Eleanor, one of the "Mustang Gang", relaxing on the cat tree.

Day 129

I have started to play with my new toy - a Stop Shot timer module and an infrared gate, which will allow me to photograph high-speed events like water splashes, balloons popping, dropped glasses breaking, and things like that. Here is the controller and the IR gate, set up for my first shot with the apparatus.

Day 128

Another of the "Shop Fosters", this is Conor. He has the most endearing ear tufts - I call him Spock.

Day 127

This is Darwin, one of the foster kitties that live at the shop.

Day 125

Cinco de Mayo, the fifth of May, so what could be more appropriate than a margarita? We don't have margarita glasses (nice ones seem to be incredibly difficult to find), but the drink is awesome! As the illegal immigrants say, sláinte :)

Day 124

Working in the shop today, I think Violet got a bit mis-filed

Day 123

Bubbles in my G&T, which I enjoyed in the lovely sunshine on our deck just before the storm blew in :)

Day 122

Sample Sunday at Prairieland Herbs makes for so many photo opportunities, including this shot of the delightful flower pot and plant jewellery made by Becky of Willow Avenue Pottery. It was a good, fun day in spite of the capricious weather.

Day 121

Another kitten picture, that's how it goes...

Day 120

Here are our four latest foster kitties. They'll be looking for homes soon.

Day 119

Donna has these fabulous orchids. I would love to be able to make some pictures that really do them justice. This is in very hard window light - I would need a diffuser, a reflector and a black backdrop to get the lighting right, and the big camera to capture the details. But this 365 is for iPhone photos only, so here you go!

Day 118

We went morel hunting this evening, in an event organized by Dallas County Conservation in Kuehn Conservation Area. After a slow start, we bagged a nice baker's dozen, including this beauty! It was a beautiful evening, and we had great fun even without the 'shrooms. I wonder what's for supper?

Day 117

There's nothing nicer after a long day at work (and we start at noon!) than a good drink. These are some serious Long Island Iced Teas that we are about to enjoy (responsibly, of course!).

Monday, April 26, 2010

Day 116

Here are two of our four new foster kitties. They all look very similar, so we're probably going to have to get different-coloured collars so that we can identify them. They'll soon be looking for homes...

Day 115

From the sublime to the ridiculous* - yesterday, we had a haut couture chapeau, today, Broke Ass wine :-s

*or is it the other way 'round?

Day 114

Today, Prairieland Herbs was honored by an unexpected visit from the world-famous Chicken Hat. The esteemed headgear, whose name is spoken in reverent whispers, came to Woodward this afternoon, and caused all other activities to pale into oblivion. The banty bonnet has become a leghorn legend in the world of poultry millinery. Here, Maggie has her "capon" - not all of us could "pullet" off!
