Lemon Drop
I'm just messing about in the studio today, so I'm trying something I haven't done before. There's a setup shot here on my Flickr, if you're interested.

It's Back!!!
Foster Babies
We are fostering eight kittens right now, two greys from the barn, and six more (along with their mother) from Panora P.E.T.S. There are an orange (we call him Pumpkin), two orange and whites, and three tabbies. The mom has adopted our barnies, and all eight kitties are very well looked after. When they're big enough, they'll get fixed and be ready for new homes. If you're interested in adopting a kitten, or fostering, give the Panora people a call - they'd love to hear from you!

More PLH Product Pics
I'm still working away in the studio, doing pictures of Prairieland Herbs products for their website. I'm having fun playing with these, especially with lighting - I have used small strobes, a big monoflash, cheap clamp-on worklights, and window light in various combinations. I modify the light using (mainly homebrew) reflectors, diffusers, flags, gels, etc., to achieve different effects. I try to get decent results in camera, and Photoshop as little as possible. Here's some of what I've been doing recently:

Lip Gloss Product Shot
I've been doing more pictures for the Prairieland Herbs website. This time, their lip glosses. There products come in really attractive oval tubes, and I wanted to show them off, and give an idea of the colours available.

Soap Portrait
My latest job is to photograph a bar of soap for the Prairieland Herbs website. Without the box and label, it's a bit more challenging to make a bar of soap look interesting. Here's what I did:

Herb Harvest
Maggie has been very busy harvesting herbs from the garden before the frost that those nice weathermen promised us for the end of the week.
These beauties will be distilled into hydrosols, and made into other wonderful Prairieland Herbs goodies.

Feathers
I have just started a project - to make photographs of parrot feathers given to me by our good friends in the Iowa Parrot Rescue, in the hope that some will be made into notecards, which will be sold in aid of that wonderful organization and their beautiful birds.
